How to equip a terrace: original ideas

The terrace is one of the most popular vacation spots at the summer cottage. And rightly so, insects practically do not bother, cool, cozy, in nature and almost at home. Only to organize a pleasant pastime on the terrace can, if you elevate it, remove excess junk and put furniture.

Furniture should be selected on the basis of the terrace itself (open or closed). For an open porch fit plastic or folding furniture, which if necessary can be removed. True, this furniture does not look aesthetically pleasing and gives a cheap look. If these criteria do not bother you, feel free to go to the store. Or you can take care of the roof and walls for the veranda, then with furniture you can swing by buying wooden, wicker, metal and even soft.

The most common arrangement of the veranda is a dining room or a summer kitchen with a grill, where you can cook food and eat al fresco. Soft sofas, low dining tables, arrange ottomans or chairs, hang a hammock, put one large wooden dining table, swings, hanging chairs, lounge chairs, inflatable pool, grill stove, kitchen worktop, kitchen stove, refrigerator … How do you equip the veranda and what furniture you put – a matter of taste. Some use the old furniture as a terrace furniture, which used to be at home, refreshing it a little.

Like any other room, the veranda should be lit. Depending on what effect you want to get, lamps are selected. For giving of romantic mood, street garlands from white small lamps or torches ideally will approach. For bright lighting, you can buy the most common lamps (floor or wall mounted). The fire in the fireplace can also become a light, but for this you will have to install a fireplace or an outdoor fireplace, and these are additional expenses and problems.

The comfort of the terrace will give different elements of textiles. The floor can be covered with a carpet, choosing neutral colors or bright patterns. Choose practical materials, because then you have to wash these carpets from traces of shoes and spilled wine. Do not forget to lay out pillows on sofas, armchairs, hammocks, swings, or whatever else you have there. If you prefer the usual wooden or metal chairs, do not forget to buy soft covers. A tablecloth can be spread on the table, and the terrace itself can be decorated with weightless curtains so that at any moment they can be closed and you would find yourself in a real tent.

Decorating the terrace – it is not easy, but interesting. Here you can give free rein to your craziest ideas that cannot exist in the house. True, the measure to know and focus on the general interior of the terrace will also have to, so as not to arouse in relatives and friends, for lack of taste. So, the most common decor terraces are plants, bonsai, alpine slides, decorative waterfalls, stones and statues that are not afraid of cold, wind, rain, snow and other bad weather. If the terrace is fully open, take care of umbrellas or a canopy that will save you from unexpected rain during shish kebabs with friends.

Depending on what exactly you will use the terrace, you may need additional items. Hookah, table tennis, BBQ, smokehouse, pool table, fitness equipment, trampoline, bar, rack for bottles of wine … Yes, you can make anything from the terrace with the help of additional items.

To make the terrace more functional, and not just a place to relax, put a convenient and small shelving with doors, a pair of wicker baskets and chests. Here you will be able to store the necessary trifles (outdoor dishes, towels and napkins, garden tools, fishing equipment, things that have no place at home, and no hand is thrown out).
