Teenagers are “creatures” with a subtle psyche. Almost not according to them – they are ready to run away from home, throw scandal from scratch and not talk to you for a week. Every teenager should express himself and everyone just needs a personal corner.
It can be absolutely anything – it is important to take into account the wishes of the child. If your girl likes pastel, bright or dark shades, do not refuse her – this is still her room. You can use pink, orange, mint, blue, purple, white, green shades. It would not be bad to make one wall a contrast from the whole color of the room – paint it in a bright color, paste over with unusual photo-wallpaper or paint it.
And yes, if the girl wants to paint the walls of the room in gray, burgundy or black, stick wallpaper with skulls or posters with monsters – do not prohibit.
Let the child express himself even if after a year you have to completely redo the interior of the room.
The room of a teenage girl is her little world, her mini-apartment. Here it is important to correctly divide the space. The child just needs a sleeping area, a work area, a place for gathering with friends, a place for beauty guidance and a wardrobe. Let’s look at the individual zones.
This zone assumes the presence of a bed, at least, as a maximum – a bedside table. What will be the bed – in the form of the castle of the princess, with a portrait of Lenin or the capital letter of the name of the child at the head, double, single, bunk – decide with the child. If the room is not too big, and there is no place for a separate sleeping area and a zone where the girl will meet with friends, it is advisable to put a large sofa. By the way, it can be with an unusual image and numerous pillows.
Or a zone where a girl will be able to learn lessons, sit on the Internet, read books (although adolescents prefer to do this in an uncomfortable position while sitting on the bed), engage in a hobby. Mandatory attribute of the working area is a desk or bureau. Be sure to pick it up in the style of the room and matching color.
It is better not to acquire a strict writing desk – give preference to creative options.
The table should be such that it was possible to put the computer, the necessary office equipment, place writing materials, organizer, notebooks and textbooks. Shelves above the table, too, will not interfere – you can put soft toys, souvenirs, books, textbooks, CDs with movies and books on them. The shelf above the table can be replaced with a rack of an unusual shape (wood, for example) and put it next to the table, and above it hang a reminder board. It is better to break the working area near the source of natural light – near the window. But do not forget about a good desk lamp – the child should not spoil the eyesight.
If instead of a bed in a teenage girl’s room there is a sofa, worry about an extra place to meet friends. If the size of the room allows, make such a zone separately from the bed. Near the music center, in front of the TV, place funny puffs or chairs in the youth style, scatter more pillows, lay a fluffy carpet and voila, the child will be delighted with such a place.
The popular saying on the Internet “Girls are such girls” has a definite meaning. Yes, girls always want to look attractive and stylish – age does not matter. Your daughter will be happy if you additionally place in her room a small dressing table or ladies’ bureau with numerous drawers and a large mirror. On such a table, you can put cosmetics, perfumes, jewelry boxes, a small pot with pretty flowers.
A teenager must have a wardrobe – he has to store his clothes somewhere.
It is better to buy a bigger cabinet and an extra dresser.
It would not be bad to withstand furniture in the same style, color scheme and, if possible, with one pattern. To save space in the room, you can not put a separate closet with compartments for hanger and chest of drawers, and one large built-in closet with a compartment for shoes, hangers and numerous drawers. And yes, the doors in the cabinet can be mirrored.
